Further Information: Walter Gropius designed the new Bauhaus School building on commission of the city of Dessau, where it was built between 1925–1926. He used glass to reveal the construction and elements of the building and designed parts of the building in relation to the function they have. In 1972, the building was renovated for the first time and again in 2006. Today, the building functions again as a place of research, teaching, exhibiting, and design.
